RESUMEN: Es necesario que la losofía, a diferencia de otras disciplinas, aborde
la problemática general creada por el coronavirus, con un análisis de caladura
capaz de llegar a las profundidades del fenómeno, más allá de las apariencias
engañosas que por lo regular nos confunden y hacen aparecer lo real como
irreal o con una máscara que nos impide ver su rostro. Desde esa óptica, es en-
tonces imprescindible y urgente reexionar a profundidad sobre la gran canti-
dad de experiencias acumuladas por cientícos, organizaciones mundiales de
la salud y gobernantes de todo el mundo en esta guerra que la humanidad está
librando contra un enemigo microscópico denominado por la ciencia CO-
VID-19. Sin olvidar que la losofía, como lámpara de Diógenes de Sinope,
debe alumbrar el camino a la ciencia para encontrar no hombres honestos,
como se lo proponía El Cínico, sino sentido a las preguntas que deben acica-
tear la conciencia de la investigación para que los prejuicios étnicos, religiosos,
políticos, morales y metafísicos cedan el paso y no impidan el libre ejercicio
del cientíco. En este ejercicio, la losofía, como debe ser, valora, pondera y se
atiene a las evidencias que resulten del desempeño de la ciencia y la tecnología
a la hora de ofrecer alternativas de solución a la pandemia. Pero sin desconocer

las dicultades y trampas que engendra la política en un contexto mundial de
enfrentamientos por el dominio y control del mundo y sus mayores áreas de
inuencia. Son justamente esas las pretensiones de este ensayo, a partir de un
selecto grupo de miradas y perspectivas losócas.

ABSTRACT: Philosophy, unlike other disciplines, needs to address the general
problems created by the coronavirus, with a deep analysis capable of reaching
the depths of the phenomenon, beyond the deceptive appearances that usually
confuse and make us appear the real as unreal or with a mask that prevents
us from seeing his face. From that point of view, it is therefore essential and
urgent to reect in depth on the large amount of experiences accumulated by
scientists, world health organizations and governments around the world in
this war that humanity is waging against a microscopic enemy called by sci-
ence COVID-19. Without forgetting that philosophy as a lamp of Diogenes
of Sinope must light the way to science to nd not honest men, as the cynic
proposed, but meaning to the questions that should spur the consciousness of
research so that ethnic prejudices, religious, political, moral and metaphysical
give way and do not impede the free exercise of the scientist. In this exer-
cise, philosophy, as it should be, assesses, weighs, and abides by the evidence
resulting from the performance of science and technology when oering al-
ternative scientic and health solutions to the pandemic. But without ignor-
ing the diculties and pitfalls that politics engenders in a global context of
confrontations for dominance and control of the world and its major areas of
inuence. ese are precisely the claims of this essay, based on a select group
of philosophical views and perspectives.
