Abstract:
The full equality of men and women, and the non-discrimination of
women by sex and gender, are presuppositions of people’s freedom. In family
life and in the different areas of social life. The social construction of gender,
coming from feminist political thought, has been progressively incorporated
into international and European norms since the 70s of the last century and its
interpretations by its guarantee bodies, forming a community of legal convic-
tions in unfinished evolution of which participates our Constitution and its
interpretative doctrine. These cross-linked consensuses show differences in
the level of recognition of rights and their consequences. Common, however, is
the incomplete or imperfect acceptance of gender construction with normative
value. On this the thesis of political liberalism on equality accentuates the ques-
tioning of gender equality.

CONVENTION 190 OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOR ORGANIZATION ON
VIOLENCE AND HARASSMENT IN THE WORLD OF WORK
Abstract:
ILO Convention 190 on violence and harassment at work, accompa-
nied by Recommendation 206, regulates the matter referred to with a human
rights approach, with integration into the concept of decent work and with
gender perspective. According these general characteristics, the Convention
defines violence and harassment in the world of work, including gender-based
violence and harassment; broadly defines its subjective, objective and causal
scope; establishes core principles aimed at guaranteeing the right of everyone to
a world of work free from violence and harassment; and imposes obligations on
Member States aimed at protection and prevention against violence and harass-
ment in the world of work, enforcement and remedies, and guidance, training
and awareness-raising. We finish the study with some considerations from the
perspective of Spanish law.
